  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    West Yorks Rhocar Monthly Meeting

    BigLee
    By BigLee,

    All,

As it seems our regular monthly meeting venue has closed (Well has been for the last 2 x months) those that attended the June meet earlier this week will know we relocated to a pub in Ogden called the Moorlands. Located between Denholme and Halifax for those who were not there.

I have been away all week with work, so in the absence of finding any other alternative I wanted to confirm we shall try this venue for the foreseeable and see how it goes. (unless I update you otherwise) . I will get the magazine etc. updated if we continue here.

Further info regarding the venue below

    http://www.moorlandshalifax.co.uk/

    By steve in stockport,

The Tatton Park Passion for Power car show is taking place over the weekend of 20th and 21st August this year. I'll be applying for a club stand in the next couple of days, the show is free to enter for driver and passenger if you are displaying a vehicle, you can do either day or all weekend and camping is available from Friday usually for about £10 per person for the weekend.

    Show Details

If you're interested in attending add your details below including your name, car make, model and reg, whether you'll be there Saturday, Sunday or all weekend and whether you intend camping. For those who don't camp there is a premier inn about 2 miles from Tatton Park.
No money needed, you pay for camping at the show.

Closing date to be on this list is Saturday 11th July and the event is also advertised on the North West Kit Car Owners Group on Facebook so places may go quickly

    Beaumanor Hall Show, 31St July

    Derek
    By Derek,

This is a cracking show Kerry and I have been for the last few years and there is a broad variety of cars, trucks etc on show.

Its £4 to book in so not a huge loss if the weather is bad.

The promoter has changed this year and it would appear all the club areas have been pre booked so we will have to book in as private entries. No booking form either, all on line.

    Link to website.

    Lincolnshire Meeting For June

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

    Hi all

Looking ahead to next month we are spoilt for choice again. There are 3 opportunities to get together and I will try and get to all of them.

Sat 4th June: GBS Open Day, always good for a free coffee and a chat and a nose around other cars.

Sun 19th June: Castle Bytham Midsummer Fair (http://www.midsummerfair.co.uk/)

As a Club we had a very good turn out 2 years ago with 8 cars. Last year I was away so no-one went. Let's try and go for a good turn out this year. It's a classic village fair with all the things you would expect: Craft stalls, Morris dancers, Beer, BBQ, Music, Duck Race, Dog Show.... A great day out for everyone.

Arrival/Departure times are flexible, although it would be nice to have some cars there fairly early so we can block out some of the road where we display, and I can show off the new Club Banner (thanks Steve).

I would like to give the organisers an idea of numbers, so could you either let me know or post here. So far I have:

    Me

    Richard (richard7)

    Pete (swan)

    Derek

    Nigel (niduncan)

Sun 26th June: Horsepower at the Hall (https://www.facebook.com/horsepoweratthehall/) As some of you know this has been a victim of it's own success and has had to move to a bigger field at the Newark Showground. Four of us went last month and the turnout was huge, but we were parked miles apart.. And we need more Hoods :) Timings are nominally 13:00-17:00 although when I got there at 12:50 it was already half full. And you leave when you have had enough. This time I will arrange an RV beforehand (maybe at a pub), so we can arrive and park together.

    Enjoy it !!

    Al
