Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Visit To Headway Nottingham
Hello all,
Wonder if any one local to Nottingham may be interested in this.
Swan Jnr organised it last year as his wife did volunteer work for them.
Details below
Headway the Brain Injuries charities deal with people with all sorts of acquired head injuries whether it is stroke, tumour, or as a result of traumatic brain injury car/bike accidents etc.
The majority of the service users are male, (over 75%) and ironically many of them still love the cars and bikes that led to their injuries.
Last year we took along 7 or 8 kit cars for the service users to have a look at and they had a great time, as too did the people that took the cars along. it was a genuinely lovely afternoon and a really good way to use our cars to do something to make someone else smile.
we are running it again this year on the 4th of August from 1pm. If any of you are local it would be lovely to see you.
I will be going in the GTM and swan jnr will be going in his V8 locost + 2 or 3 from locost builders site.
Regards
Swan
Coventry Wings And Wheels Sunday 24Th July
I know this is in the club calendar but just to let everyone know that they have cancelled this event for unknown reasons.
Just thought I'd let people know in case they were going to attend
Mid Wales Camping Weekend
I have proposed an autumn camping weekend in West Wales starting Friday evening for early starters 30th September and through the weekend of the 1st and 2nd October. The membership of RHOcar appear to have become overwhelmed with indifference to my suggestion of camping in the cold, liking it to a blast down the motorway with the roof off.
Never being one to be put off I now propose that a change of date to 5th 6th and 7th May next Spring 2017.
When the weather is warmer.
Some thing along the lines of fish and chip supper Friday A road run out into the Cambrian mountains on the Saturday with a barbque in the evening with an open gate event on the Sunday with invitations sent out to local car clubs to come and visit.
Any takers

Hants & Dorset Monthly Meet
Very busy this month, so the only Sunday free for us is the 10th -- this coming Sunday!!!
Suggest we meet at "The Silver Plough" Pitton. Good pub meals in pleasant country-side. Can do a little run if required before/after lunch.
OR you may wish for another date or venue -- please shout -- happy to promote any suggestions.
Lincolnshire Meets For July
Hi all
Unfortunately it looks like this might have to be a self-help month. I am not back from holiday till late on the 10th so can't do anything for that weekend. The following weekend is the Leicestershire BBQ and run out and I am hoping to go to that. See http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=44134.
My daughter is getting married on the 24th and I suspect I might get in trouble if I do anything on that weekend But remember 'Gearheads on the Ground' is on that Sunday at the Newark Showground at 13:00 and that is always worth a visit.
So that only leaves 30th/31st and I will revisit that during the prior week to see if the weather warrants a pub run/picnic.
Don't forget the Stamford Car Show is next month on the 28th. I see from their page that registration has stopped as they have the maximum number of cars. But if anyone has a ticket and they are not going to use it then please pass it on and don't waste it.

Cumbria Classic Show 21St August
This event was posted by Mark Little previously.
Cumbria Classic show at Dalemain organised by Wigton Motor club
http://www.wigtonmc.co.uk/ccw/index.php
As we now can't get into the Tatton show this august, I have just been in touch with the organisors for this event and they still have club stands available and seemed to be very receptive to having us there.
I'm prepared to book a club stand if people would like to attend this event. There is no minimum number required to have a club stand, but the more we can get the better. Maximum number is 50.
The Rose and Thistle run is too expensive at £60
So here's the deal :-
Entry to the show = £3 per car
Camping = £5 per night per tent/unit
You can have a full weekend for £13
Or just Saturday night and the show for £8
I'm proposing, arrive Friday evening and camp, run out Saturday around Cumbria/north Yorkshie/north pennines or all 3. Camp Saturday night and attend the show on the sunday. Anyone just wanting to come Saturday for the run or sunday for the show are also welcome.
If you're up for it add your name to this thread by 18th July so I can see if enough interest and I'll make a list.
As we have to pay for this up front, I'll then require your payment by the 22nd July either by paypal or cheque.
Ill send the entry form off on the 22nd as the closing date is August 5th I want to ensure we get our entry in enough time.
