  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Midlands Run To Wales 11Th To 13Th August 2017

    richyb66
    By richyb66,

Stoneleigh hasn’t even happened yet and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to a great show. However I’m already looking even further ahead to the weekend of 12th and 13th August 2017 which will be the annual Midlands area run to Wales.

The destination is once again (and possibly for the last time) Nefyn on the Llyn peninsula in North West Wales. Although the previous year’s driving route offered some of the best driving roads around, I fancied a challenge this year and so have planned something that’s as new as I can possibly make it so we’ve got some new views to enjoy.

Travel will be departing on the morning of Friday 11th August with overnight stays on Friday and Saturday nights, a jolly days drive Saturday and return home on Sunday. The Friday morning departure isn’t compulsory (some people may need to work) so if you can’t travel up in the group, you can join us later.

Accommodation wise you need something in / around the Nefyn area and as in previous years there’s plenty of choice. However some have been a little ‘mixed’ in more recent years so is anyone wants to suggest places to avoid, let me know. I’ll be sleeping in my own bed so I can’t offer first hand reviews but others are welcome to do so. There’s a fairly comprehensive list of places to stay here:

    http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=44117&page=1&do=findComment&comment=357733

Some of the regulars have already booked, just confirm where you’re staying and I’ll add you to the attendance list below. Remember this is open to everyone, not just those from the Midlands so if you fancy coming, get your name down and get it in the diary.

    Santa Pod Peak Performance Day

    Bob Tucker
    By Bob Tucker,

    Hiya guys.

I booked a racer ticket & 4 crew tickets for Ray's Corvette to make its first practice runs.

This is not a regular RWYB, but a limited entry for serious racers on a fully prepped track

But the car is not 100% ready for the track, although it starts & runs well, it needs to go on a RR

& there are not many that can handle 2000 HP, and none that can fit it in by then.

Scroll down a bit for the video....

    https://www.facebook.com/ray.tucker.9655

Rather than risk it, he has decided not to take it,

so I will be taking the Hood rather than waste the tickets, weather dependent.

There may be some free crew tickets available, but I will post up nearer the date.

Tickets can be collected at the gate so do not need to be mailed

    Passenger rides may also available....

    Bob
