  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Guest mrinverted232
    By Guest mrinverted232,

Would anyone be interested in getting together at my place next year,

I have a runway on the farm and it could easily accomadate around 20 vehicles, you can drive straight onto it , its well mown and kept really nice.

If people are happy to contribute, I will put on a hog roast, camping space is available, toilets are also close.

We can get one of our steam engines out , put the trailer on and go down the local with a few of you on the back, :p anyhow just an idea at the moment.

If anyone is keen to come along, drink, eat and talk cars , get a lift to the pub and back then I will give it some thought..

    Thanks

    Craig

    Lincolnshire Meet For October

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

As previously discussed, October is when we do our annual pilgrimage to the Corby Glen Sheep Fair (https://www.sheepfair.co.uk/), It is from 10:00-16:00 on Sunday 8 October but you can arrive whenever you want and leave whenever you want. I will probably position my car about 09:30 to book some slots.

I think most of you have been before, but as a reminder, we will be parking by the war memorial at the Western edge of the village (Shown in red). If you are coming in from the A1 then as you enter the village, go past Tanners Lane and then take the left fork just after the funfair. The dropped kerb is just before the first house as shown in blue on the picture.

If you are coming from the Bourne direction then drive past the cars and then turn 180 degs just before the funfair.

    2. Mick & Stella

    3. Kerry & Sharon

    5. Pete (Swan)

    6. Derek & Mo

    7.

    Anyone else ?

All subject to weather of course, although I will do my best. (I gather I excelled at the Stamford Show, even though I wasn't there :) )

North Wales Run Out Saturday 14Th October 2017

    richyb66
    By richyb66,

I'm planning a run out on Saturday 14th October 2017 for anyone brave enough to still have their car on the road. Rough details are a drive up in the morning, an overnight stay somewhere around Corwen then some more driving Sunday before returning home.

Corwen is a well located and the accommodation should be a bit cheaper than in Llangollen. A couple of options are the Crown Hotel and the Owen Glyndwr, both of which I've stayed in though not for a while. Book your accommodation early to avoid disappointment.

Let me know if interested then pack for wet weather and at least you'll be prepared.

    Eosb Feedback

    keith kelly
    By keith kelly,

    Hi all,

Many thanks to all that made this years end of season bash a success! and many thanks to all that attended and i hope you all enjoyed the weekend.

This was my first event for the club and i have learnt a lot from it, i was a bit unsure how well the event was received but after speaking with some of you feed back has been good.

That said i welcome all feedback good or bad and any recommendations on where we can improve the event.

I would also like some input from people as to what they want out of the event such as

Do you like the format or would you prefer just a camping weekend?

Did we need a live band?

Did we need the disco on Friday night?

Was the beer raffle a good idea? (seemed to be!)

Do we need two inflatables (Large one did not appear to be used much)?

keeping event outside and having hall as backup VS keeping the same format.

    thoughts on catering etc.

I would like you to email me Directly on Events@rhocar.org rather than posting on the forum as this will allow me to look at each persons comments individually.

This is your event and we can only meet expectation if you tell us what you would like.

If you would like to contribute to the event also email me! Maybe you play in a band or know a good band or have a guitar and would like to do some acoustic stuff or would like to put up a stall or just have some idea's of fun things we can add please also drop me an email.

This years event was a big success with more and more people attending and i want to make next year an even bigger success.

    Many thanks

    Keith Kelly

PS. Please email your thoughts directly. Once i have collated the feedback I will put together the plan for next years event.
