Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Short Outage 24/05/18
An outage of the rhocar site was reported to me today at 10:21am.
Investigation into the outage began immediately and the site was back up at 10:35am.
Exact cause of the outage is currently unknown but was the result of part of the background services crashing.
UPDATE: After the site came back up it became apparent there were other related issues. These have now also been repaired and we will continue to monitor for further issues.

Wales Weekend Fri 10Th To Sun 12Th August 2018
The annual Wales Weekend will take place as usual on the second weekend in August, Friday 10th to Sunday 12th 2018.
Im putting this is the Members area first because we normally get some club funding and therefore its only fair that members get first shout on places before its rolled out to others. Some of the regular attendees have already asked me about this and have started booking accommodation so well keep a similar format to last year as things seemed to go fairly smoothly and if less things are changed, less should go wrong.
For any newcomers the format is departing on the morning of Friday 10th August with overnight stays on Friday and Saturday nights, a jolly days drive Saturday and return home on Sunday. The Friday morning departure isnt compulsory (some people may need to work) so if you cant travel up in the group, you can join us later.
Accommodation choices are camping, B&B or hotels in the Nefyn area of Gwynedd in North West Wales. The camping has been a slow starter in previous years but it gathered some momentum last year and hopefully this will continue. Possible choices locally area as follows:

For camping most people stayed here last year and it seemed ok. Graeanfryn Farm did do B&B as well but I believe this isnt now available but the camping is still on.

Second option is a bit closer to Nefyn, no website and its fairly small site but its very popular for camping and gets good reviews:
Wern Caravan Park
Pistyll
Nefyn
LL53 6LN

Third option is just down the road from me, looks a nice site right next to the sea but might be worth checking access for kits because I know that the access road was a bit uneven:
Penisarlon Farm

Ive only stayed at the Nanhoron Hotel so I cant offer reviews on any of the others so if in doubt, see what the regulars are booking and try and bag a place there.
For the Saturday run out we will be going back to the Canolfan Prysor at Trawsfyndd again for late afternoon food. We popped in to see Beth there a few weeks ago and shes keen to see us there again this year so Im happy to return. Theyll sort out some meal choices and Ill post the details later.
On the Sunday morning Jackie is going to organise some horse riding for anyone thats interested which will probably be a 3 hour session. This can be tailored to all abilities so if youve always fancied a go, this could be the time to try it.
We want to give this the broadest appeal possible so if families want to come along but dont fancy the drive on the Saturday, theres plenty of other stuff to do in the local area and we can give details of that as well.
If theres any question, just ask.
