Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Given we are now in December I have activated, and set to be the default, our Christmas theme for the website, I hope you like it
If it is not for you, scroll to the bottom of the page, select “Theme” and you can set pack to the normal default or one of the dark themes and the forum will remember your personal setting. We will also automatically set back to the normal theme after Christmas.
Oh and if you are on mobile, be sure to check it out on a computer for the full effect!
The 1st "Jim Clark Road Run"
Hi Everyone,
I am Publicity/Promotions Manager for The Linlithgow Classic Car Group,
Next 25th August marks our 10th Anniversary, and to celebrate this I am organising a very special event indeed.
In memory of Jim Clark (Who's 50th Anniversary of passing, June gone), We are launching "The 1st Jim Clark Road Run".
The Road Run will be limited to 100 cars. Each Car taking part on the day, will receive a specially designed plaque (designed by myself) which can be tied to the front of the car. These Plaques will become very sort after!!! They are Sponsored by Dragonfly- The Rally Plate Company. (You have to be there with your car at registration to gain the plaque!!!).
I can add your name and car to a pre list, just message me . (This does not guarantee you a plaque, you and your car have to be there at registration on the day!!!)
The Road Run will take around 2 hrs starting at 10.30am just outside Linlithgow, taking in the beautiful surrounding scenery. Then arriving at Linlithgow high street, joining the other 100 parked classic cars. Parking is on the high street, the cross, and in front of Linlithgow Palace.
It would be nice to see some members cars taking part.
I'm working on a special guest to start the Road Run along with Doug Niven (Jim Clarks cousin) and the event opens and kicks off at around 12.30.
Doug will be bringing along Jim Clarks last owned car- his Yellow Lotus Elan.
In attendance also will be the Jim Clark Trust, who are now raising money for the 2nd phase of the Jim Clark Museum.
It's a lovely day, great atmosphere too!!!
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Dave Miles- Moog 6

FORUM UPGRADE COMPLETE
The long awaited forum upgrade is complete. I have started a thread for feedback and suggestions, so that we can keep them all in one place, here:
We will continue to provide updates to you all on this post. There is still work on going but rather than delay things further we wanted to get the site back to you. Below you will find useful information about the new site and we will add to this over time.
User / Display Name
One of the things that has changed in the new version is that user names and display names are now one and the same thing. Previously you might have logged in using one name but another name would displayed on the forum. We made the decision to stick with user names during the upgrade, as going with display names would have meant you wouldn't have been able to use your old login details!
If you would like for your username to be changed, please pm me and I will make the necessary changes.
Mobile View
The way the sites mobile view works has changed, however you can still switch between the full site and mobile view quite easily, links to instructions on how to do this are below:
iPhone / iPad - https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-force-your-iphone-or-ipad-to-load-the-desktop-version-of-a-website/
Android - https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-request-desktop-version-of-a-web-site-in-chrome-for-android/
Membership changes
We are now able to offer all members a full 12 months membership from the day they join! Ideally all members will purchase their membership using the Join RHOCaR option (under store) at the top of the forum when their renewals become due, but we will still be able to process manual memberships where required.
As part of these changes we will be making use of the forum software for full management of the membership database. This will mean that members will need to enter their address on their profile in order for us to send out magazines etc. Please rest assured that only the committee will have access to that information.
Gift Memberships
We also now have the option for people to buy gift cards that are redeemable against membership. Available under Store, Membership Gift Cards
Merchandise Store
I am pleased to also be able to announce the launch of our new merchandise store, which offers a range of goods including t-shirts, hoodies, caps etc. all of which can printed or embroidered! To access the store just hover over the store button at the top of the page, then select Merchandise and it will open in a new window. (N.B Embroidered isn't available just yet, but will be very soon.)
Community User Access
An outstanding action point from the 2017 AGM was to address community user access, I am pleased to say the upgrade allows us to do that, and community users are now only able to post 5 times per day. We will keep the restrictions on community users under review and adjust accordingly.
New Member Map
Only accessible to full members the new member map is to be found by clicking Portal and then Member Map. Unfortunately the plug-in used for this before is no longer compatible with the latest forum software, so we have moved to a new alternative, this means the map is almost completely empty, so get adding yourselves! UPDATE: The address search is now fixed
Themes
The new forum software also includes a choice of Themes, so you can change the look of the forum to suit your preference. There is currently a choice of 3, the default theme which is a bright and light look to it, and two different darker themes. To select these, scroll to the bottom of any page and click on Theme
Support
Another new feature, if you require technical or general support with the Forum, Membership or any other RHOCaR related topic, you can now use the Support tab at the top of the page to raise a support request. Really it is just a fancy way of getting in touch with us, but it does make sure your message gets to the right person first time.
Outages Advanced Warning - Forum Upgrade
The forum software that we currently use is long overdue an update, and I am pleased to say that this will be taking place in the near future. This will mean that the forum will be out of action while the upgrade work is undertaken. A large part of the upgrade work is being undertaken by our software providers who are unable to give a definitive date as to when they will undertake their share of the work, only that it will be within the next three weeks. During the outage we will keep members updated via the facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/514980222217443/
Please expect the forum to be out of action for a couple of days when the upgrade takes place.
Leicester Area Meet 21/11/2018
The meeting will be at the Gate Hangs Well from 7.30. As your new area secretary we can discuss future meetings for next year.
