  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

    Heritage logo

The Committee would like to congratulate Heritage Insurance on their 60th Anniversary in 2025

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Print two numbers at maximum size on your PC, ie a 2 and a 2 for 22, laminate and use electrical tape to affix, it aint rocket science.

Or, for little money, get hem from 'fleabay', very smart.

It is for you safety, so if in the event of an incident your car can be identified by the crash rescue crews.

Now. I know I am going to get tons of questions, same every year, dont be afraid to ask, what may appear a stupid question to you may be very valid, so ask away.

If you 'Barkston Virgins' want to have a look at what you are letting yourself in for look at the youtube link thing

    The Cholmondeley Pageant Of Power

    steve in stockport
    By steve in stockport,

The organisers of the CPOP are starting to put the wheels in motion for this years event, and are asking for initial numbers of Club members who will be attending over the weekend.

The event takes place at Cholmondeley Castle, near Malpass in Cheshire and is billed as a northern rival to the Goodwood Festival, there is loads of action on track, water, land and in the air, and camping is available. There is a write up on last years event in the latest Boys in Hoods magazine.

The organisers have supplied free passes, for kit drivers, for the last two years and I anticipate they will do the same again this year, but they are limited and passengers and non kit drivers will still be charged.

If you're interested please add your name below and whether you will be there on Saturday, Sunday or both, whether you will be putting your car on the Club stand(kits only) or whether you will be attending but not displaying your car(tin tops)

This is the weekend immediately after the Le Mans Classic, so some people may not be able to get their passes stamped :D .

Extra Tvh Meeting Sunday 28th Feb‏

    chris n
    By chris n,

At the February meeting (Saturday 13th) we had a discussion about moving the monthly meetings from the Dewdrop Inn to a new venue which has a bigger tarmac car park, more space inside and not down some country lane that is now starting to get a bit on the rough side of life for a Robin Hood.

The intention to view the Fox and Hounds Station Road, Sheffield Bottom,‏ Theale, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 4BE On Sunday 28th February with the view of moving the meeting there starting in March.

    Fox & Hounds

    Map

Times, 12:45 if you fancy having a meal, tables will be booked if numbers call for it so please let me know ASAP and 14:15 for anyone just meeting up for a chat and a drink.

Your feedback on this matter would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Chris.

Cookie would like us to supply 2 cars for an indoor display, Tony and Graham supplied us with a nice brace of Zeros last year and Tony has shown an interest again for this year, thank you.

I would like to try and get a nice 2b ? if any one is taking there car and happy to get sticky fingers all over it let me know. Tony’s' wife is an excellent car cleaner by the way :D

If any of you decide to stay over, IT WILL BE COLD so make sure you bring appropriate kit.

As with most shows this year we won't be there due to working more weekends than I have previously, and being invited to 22 weddings this summer.
