Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Cars at the farm camping weekend 2024
We have been invited by Craig Cundy to hold a camping weekend at their farm in Huntingdon. As some members will know it’s a great venue and the hospitality is excellent.
This event is open to club members and their family.
The club will fund the event including the BBQ on the Saturday evening, and breakfast on Sunday.
Toilets, fresh water and waste disposal point will be on site, but no electric hook up.
A barn with seating is available if the weather isn’t kind, along with the club events shelters.
As usual there will be a run out on Saturday.
There is a maximum limit of spaces due to catering needs of 60 people, so please put your names on the post as its first come first serve.
As the event is being funded by the club, we are suggesting a donation of £10 per person and £20 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children paid at the event to go to the hosts, or a charity of there choosing.
The date of the weekend is Friday 23rd August to Monday 26th August.
Sharon and myself look forward to seeing you there.
Assistant Webmaster needed
Hi everyone
A few months ago I took on the role of looking after the Website. It's taken me some time to get used to the software and I apologise for the couple of times when I crashed the system with my experiments During that time I was helped by Neil Hammond, and my thanks go to him for his assistance. However, he is probably going to leave the Club in the near future and has suggested I find someone else. I'm getting on a bit so there is a remote (I hope) possibility of me popping my clogs. As such, we really need someone who can step into the breach.
You don't have to be a computer whiz kid, you just need to be reasonably computer literate, most of the job involves amending the options within the software. A understanding of HTML and Javascript would be useful but not essential.
Anyone feel like taking it on ?
Midlands to Malvern
I'm going to Malvern on Saturday morning, if anyone wants to travel down with me, meet at the Malt Shovel, Stone bridge Birmingham CV7 7HL

Myself and Neil are planning to go to this event but the organisers want all vehicles to be over 25years old, or get prior agreement from the organisers.
West Mids Monthly Meet 29th May 2024
Next Wednesday 29th, 6pm onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL.
Generally they're trying to kick us out just after 930pm so if you're coming, don't leave it too late. Also, if you want to eat, book beforehand as they don't normally let people just rock up and eat.
Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island.
Everyone welcome. See you there.
North East Area monthly meeting Tuesday 28th May from 7pm
A reminder that the meeting will be at the Church Mouse, Chester Moor DH23RJ, looking forward to seeing a good turnout.

Magazine & AGM
By now all members who opted to have electronic magazine delivery should have received a "pdf" copy, and all others should have received a hard copy, of the Spring 2024 magazine.
If anyone has not received a copy please let myself or Alan Richey know and we'll try to sort it out for you.
We now have just over 2 weeks before the AGM is held at the National Kit Car Show at Malvern (Sat 1st June) and hopefully we'll see lots of you there. If you wish to have anything discussed, or would like to volunteer as Events Secretary, please follow the instructions in the magazine.

Track day
Some time ago when was involved as events sec a club track day was asked about. At the time the cost was massive , around the £8k mark. I now notice that Blyton park do a club track day. So i fired off a email to enquire and was surprised at the price. they basically limit the track to 6 cars and do about 7 lap sessions they have cut the cost by using cctv and less marshals. I enquired for 24 cars latter part of the year (sept), the price they came back with was £2950+vat so £3540 that works out at £147.50 per car if 24 cars. what are peoples thoughts?
