Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The Committee would like to congratulate Heritage Insurance on their 60th Anniversary in 2025
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Lincolnshire Meetings for August

I would like to restart meetings for the Lincolnshire team in August. As usual I am looking for weekend lunchtime picnics which have been so successful in the past. Unfortunately I am struggling with the same problems as other area secretaries in that we are limited to 6 people and also I need to find somewhere nice to visit with a big car park and, importantly, open toilets. My usual core team of 6 had a couple of practice runs in July, visiting Rutland Water and Foxton Locks, both very successful. But we used the fact that we are all retired to have the meetings mid-week. Even then, both of these locations were very busy so would probably be non-starters for a weekend meet. I'm going to check out Burlghly House on Sunday to see how busy that might be. But if anyone has any other suggestions in the local area let me know.
Meanwhile, could I have an idea of who would be interested if I can solve the problems ? Please PM me or post here and let me know if you are weekend only or could manage any time.
Postponed - Classic Car Show Knebworth Sun 30th August

Organisers are trying to gauge interest for a Classic Car Show at Knebworth House on Sunday 30th August 2020 and we are invited. They have completed a full risk assessment and will be implementing strict social distancing rules, using a larger outdoor space than usual, enhanced handwashing/sanitisation and additional safety measures on site.
If anyone is interested in attending, please add your name To this thread by the end of this Sunday 2nd August so we can let them know and potentially reserve spaces.
Staffordshire Area Meet 06/08/2020

Hi all,
This will be the local event for Staffordshire in August (about time too)
Spread Eagle Watling St, Gailey, Stafford ST19 5PN
https://www.spreadeaglepubgailey.co.uk/menus
https://goo.gl/maps/vt6Hcc3Ae5x4YbfJA
It`s a huge pub / restaurant / car park / garden and so distancing should not be a problem. Starting at around 19.30pm (you can book a table for food earlier if you like).
Everybody is welcome, come and drive your cars, or come and look at the cars if your building or thinking of getting a kit.
Come and say hello to the fat bloke with bleached hair, god knows I need to talk to someone lately.

Leicester Area Meeting

I have been in contact with The Gate Hangs Well regarding restarting the area meetings, unfortunately they have a bike meeting every Wednesday and we would have to park in the field, which would also a large group of people which in the current situation is not ideal.
mid anyone has any thoughts on a venue please let me know.
I will try and find an alternative place central to the group who usually attend the meetings.
cheers Kerry
End of Season Bash 2020
Warks / Worcs / West Mids Monthly Meet Wed 29th July 2020

Tonight I went over to our normal venue The Malt Shovel to see what's happening there. They are open but unfortunately are only serving drinks with food and only taking bookings if you want to eat.
I don't think it would be practical to have the meeting there at the moment given the numbers that might attend, the need to maintain small groups (max 6) and the fact that not everyone will want to eat.
South Yorkshireish Area Meet August

Now the pubs are back open (including monk's bridge farm), do we want to resume meets?
The august meet would be due on Wednesday the 5th. Unfortunately I'm not able to make this as i'm on holiday that week.
Weather permitting, it might be advisable to meet up outside. What are people's thoughts?

Club Statement regarding meets / Events post lockdown

Now that lock down restrictions begin to be lifted in parts of the UK, the club committee would like to request that any events / area meets conform to the government guidelines and follow the strict social distancing required to continue to control the virus.
The club has a reputation of being a family friendly, approachable club and we have all worked hard moving the club forward, thus increasing the member numbers. Please do not undo all of this hard work by having meets / events/ run outs which do not conform to the government guidelines which have the potential to generate negative posts on social media, thus damaging the club.
The government has set out its plan to return life to as near normal as we can, for as many people as we can, as quickly and fairly as possible in order to safeguard livelihoods, but in a way that continues to protect our communities and our NHS. The most important thing we can continue to do is to stay alert, control the virus, and, in doing so, save lives.
Everyone’s actions have helped to reduce the transmission of coronavirus in our communities. Fatalities and infection rates continue to fall. People will be trusted to continue acting responsibly by following guidance. The overwhelming majority of the British public have complied with the regulations, and the wider guidance on how to keep themselves and their friends and family as safe as possible. Taking this into account, we trust people to continue acting responsibly, and to follow the guidance on what they should and should not do.
If attendees do not follow the guidelines or don't social distance, a reminder will be given by the event organiser, if people have to be told again, they will then be asked to leave the event, no excuses
Please be mindful of this when drinking alcohol, we can often forget about the reason we are having to do this once a few drinks have been consumed but the guidelines must be adhered to all of the time.
The club committee cannot take responsibility for any events that have been arranged on the forum and any questions regarding the measures in place for social distancing should be directed to the event organiser.

18/06/2020 COVID-19 UPDATE:
NEWARK KIT CAR SHOW 2020
It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the Newark Kit Car Show in July this year. For those of you who have purchased tickets for this show, your ticket will be valid for the 2021 show (dates to be confirmed). To avoid possible ticket price increases next year, and to save us the cost of postage and reprinting tickets, we ask that you keep your ticket and use it for the 2021 show. By retaining your ticket for use in 2021 you will be helping us to continue hosting shows in 2021 following what has been a difficult time for many businesses due to Covid-19. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and look forward to welcoming you back to the Newark Kit Car Show next year.
As our office is still closed, we are unable to contact ticket holders individually as we do not have access to the database. If you have any queries, our preferred method of contact is email (grosvenorshows@btconnect.com).
We are currently still planning to hold the Stoneleigh Kit Car Show in August (29 – 30 August 2020). We will continue to follow updates from the government regarding the Coronavirus and will update you on our website and Facebook page @Grosvenor where necessary.
Kind regards,
Roger Cooling
