Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Site Access Issues
As you have noticed, there has been a few hours of downtime on this site. Not only this site, my whole server and the data centre it is hosted at Seems as though they have been the target of a very large DDoS attack (roughly 400,000 packets a second). They do have in place some anti-DDos equipment, howver these packets where in a strange format, causing them not to be recognised and the packets to casue issues. I hope it's sorted now, and sorry for the delays!
Thames Valley Treasure Hunt May 14th
We have an event coming up on MAY 14th, so keep those cars roadworthy and make a date for the
SPRING TREASURE HUNT .
This is a day out for everyone.
Created by Alan Saunders specifically for this Thames Valley Hoods day out, the hunt is for a collection of witty and criptic clues all with a motoring theme for you to spot and collect along a prescribed country drive, for which you will be given course notes on arrival at the start venue.
At set intervals, and not against the clock ! , you will set off along the route collecting and noting down your answers.
There is a prize for the most correct observations when the scores are totted up at the finish venue ( The Pub with No Name ).
A small entry fee per car full will pay for the prize.
Refreshments available at the start and finish venues.
Bring any car, and as many occupants as you wish. I get a feeling those with people carriers will have an advantage of more eyes and ideas flowing.
( Grandma's are pretty handy with the criptic stuff , must be all the crosswords etc. )
Alan has put all his notes and locations on his website for you to view , bar of course the clues, which you will have to wait for on the day.
You can view them here......... www.promec-services.co.uk/hoods/paperchase.htm
I hope lots of you can make this a really good event , and our thanks should go to Alan who has been concocting this jaunt solely for your enjoyment, for some time now.
Please let me know by return email, to give us some idea of numbers .
Any questions, please let me know.
Thanks.
See you soon
John
Dent Weekend 12th / 14th May 2006
It's that time of the year again when we make our plans to attend Barbon Hill Climb. Last year we camped in Dent a short drive from the Hill Climb Venue. This year I'm investigating hiring a cottage or large caravan as well as the camping option.
A short description of Dent: A very small pretty village with three pubs one shop and a restauraunt populated by friendly local people.
We will set off from the North East on Friday night, the hill climb is on Saturday afternoon and make our way back to the North East on Sunday.
If anyone out there is interested in coming along please drop me a PM.
Here is the link to the National hill climb calendar.
