  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Chat Feature Replaced With Shoutbox

    Mat-Moo
    By Mat-Moo,

The old chat feature rarely got used, so I've not put up an experimental "Shout box" at the bottom of the index page instead. Feel free to say hello, but there are some limitations on posting. As I said this is experimental, so we can decide to keep it or not.

    Community Software Upgrade

    Guest Admin
    By Guest Admin,

In case you have been unsure, I've spent the afternoon updating the board software. Presently I've had to disable the "Garage" plugin till I can sort that out, as it is incompatible iwht the new version (hope this will be resolved shortly). Also the template for the members area is a bit screwy as well, I'll work on this in a while as well.

Please feel free to report any other bugs/issues in the chit/chat section.

    This Website

    Guest Tim Norman
    By Guest Tim Norman,

This site is run by a RHOCaR club member for the benefit of the the Club. It is not run by the the Club. The Club has no say in how its run nor how to moderate it but it does stand by the moderators, and the site owner and respects its decisions.

If a thread is deleted or moderated we respect that decision, we do not start a big debate about it.

The site was set up to help, and bring ideas together, granted it has grown into something else but in essence it is still an invaluable source of information and proof of the helpful nature of the Hoody.

However, If the current trend of whining every time a thread is deleted or moderated continues, the site owner will make this site disappear, initially for just a day or two but eventually for good.

We are not heartless and we don't like censoring free thought, we are not the bad boys, we are just the people who give up our time and in many cases resources to make this site and Club one of the best, and to be honest we are getting annoyed at being slagged off for the decisions we make on here.

Please don't mess it up. :(

    Woody's Weekend

    BigLee
    By BigLee,

    WOODYS WEEKEND -

Time - Weekend of 07th and 08th July. (Arriving to camp anytime PM on Friday 06th )

Location - Smallways Country Inn, just off the A66 at Newsham, about 7 miles from Scotch Corner. (A1)

    post-13-1089324333.jpg

Cost - Next to nowt. Officially there is no charge to pitch a tent for the two nights. Last year I asked for a donation of a fiver for the weekend to offer the landlord for his hospitality, which was appreciated.

Facilities - Excellent country pub serving good food, toilet and washing facilities (even a shower if I remember rightly and Landlord allows access indoors to facilities all night)

Stuff to do - Your own thing, tyre kick, drink copious amounts of falling over juice, take aspirin etc. - Note I am NOT arranging the BBQ held on previous years so you are free to eat in the pub or go off and explore on the evenings.

I will arrange a run out on the Saturday ( to be planned yet - Steve are you up to volunteer again??), but no -one is obliged to participate.

Next Steps - Please tell me if you want to come and I'll book you a place. There shouldn't be any restriction on numbers unless it gets silly. PM me via RHOCaR with your email address and phone number and I will add you to the growing list. This is mainly to let the landlord know of numbers. Alternatlively I'll start a thread in chit chat and let me know you want to come.
