Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Site Transfer
Ok, think I will transfer the site tonight on to the new server. Once I start, the site will be offline on the current (this server) and only available on the new server. Hopefully it will be a smooth transfer, so say goodbye to the old girl just in case!

New Northwest Meet And Auto Test
HI All
okay i keep getting asked to organise a monthly meet, but has its still quite dark in the evenings i thought we could have the first one at a weekend,
So this Sunday (25th) theres a Autotest on at the M65 services J 4 from 10 am, I will be there with a couple more from the area, if you fancy coming along to watch feel free, and maybe go for a run around the back roads later,
But i thought we could also meet later in the afternoon Say 2pm at the Poachers Arms at Bamber bridge, this is quite a large pub , its a two for one pub so anyone wanting to eat can do realitvly cheaply too
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=PR56BA
its very nr the M65 M6 and M61 motorways so should be easy for most of us to reach,
so weather you are building or on the road, come along and meet the other NW members, and give me some ideas for runs and places you would like to visit this year in the hoods.
if the pubs okay and happy to have us, we can make it a monthly evening meet when the lighter evenings arrive.
say, the first Thursday of the month, which would make the 5th of April would be the first evening meet for the NW,
Mitch
Built Tips Are Back
If anyone remembers the old old old boards we used to have a section for build tips. Well it's back ! I'm trying to dig through some of the old stuff and will upload and add it as I can. New articles/tips are always welcome, but please remember that the RHOCaR mag always after them
The "Build tips" are available via the main portal page http://community.rhocar.org/index.php?act=Home on the left under "Build tips" or directly via http://community.rhocar.org/index.php?act=announce&id=2.
I'm trying to decide which format to have the articles in, so I'll start a vote in chit chat.
Open This Sat
As above we are open this sat morning, for anybody needing parts.
please give me a call so we know how many to expect
cheers

Phone Number
We have changed our phone number and will eventually, change e-mail also
New number 0115 96 70 258
New email will be notified in a few weeks when I have it
When I joined sky they gave me an email address. What they can't do is tell me how to set it up so I have told them they can *bleep* off.
New email address is tim@rhocar.org
If you have emailed the old account since Wednesday 28th March can I ask that you resend it
Server Issues
As you are aware (or not) there was a power (fuse) issue yesterday causing the server to be down for well over 6 hours+ Well I've decided to now change my server and have bought a new one (once all the paperwork goes through). Once this does go through I can start the fun task of transferring all my websites (including RHOCaR) so we will have some more downtime. I'll post once this is all sorted, and sorry for the problems.
Spring Yorkie Run/weekend
Karl’s spring treasure hunt
Hello everyone, it’s that time of year again and this year’s event is booked for the week-end of Friday 18th – Sunday 20th May, We will be in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, with facilities for camping at the Fox and Hounds West Witton nr Richmond north Yorkshire, for those who are bringing their tents! Bar meals are also available.
If you don’t fancy camping you can get B&B in the village and still be able to see everyone.
Friday night camping and perhaps a beer or two
On Saturday there will be a trip out along some very interesting roads that I’m sure you will enjoy, with perhaps another beer in the evening
On Sunday there will be a Treasure Hunt with a difference! – think of it as “car orienteering”! - which will start around 12 noon and finish around 5 p.m. when we can meet up and share an evening meal in the Pub!
Do come and have some fun, you don’t have to come for the weekend just Sunday would be great !!! - Any idea of numbers would be advantageous, so please email me to say if you are interested or have any questions. Families and friends are also welcome
