  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    By Andi,

    Hi all,

    Anyone interested in this

    http://www.transtarp...oroughHall.html

If so we have to be quick if we want to show our cars.

There are a couple of snags however firstly its £2.50 per vehicle

and secondly once in place the vehicles have to be there all day until 16.30.

The driver and passenger both get in with the £2.50 single charge as opposed to £6 each for regular payers.

Let me know your thoughts as we have to have the numbers in by next weekend.

Oh yes, ........ There are over 1000 entrys all ready

    Andi

    Chocfetti

    Mat-Moo
    By Mat-Moo,

As some of you may or may not know, my wife runs a small website called Printfetti where she create personalised photo confetti. She has now recently started a new product called Chocfetti based on adding photos to chocolates. Perfect for most occasions including parties and weddings. I know it's not very car based, but I have to take any opportunity to promote her products :)

    Forum Software Upgrade

    Mat-Moo
    By Mat-Moo,

I've taken some time this afternoon to upgrade the board to 3.1.1. Some security updates etc. and a few new features. One of these is Iphone app available http://www.invisionpower.com/suite/iphone/index.php other phones will be catered for soon (I'm an Android man!). I've also upgrade the garage software, but still not been able to fix the links system (which I'll work on). The portal also need reworking as it's been reset to default, and I forgot to back up that file - grrr! (Well it's on the server backup)

    Scam Heads Up

    Mat-Moo
    By Mat-Moo,

Recently there has been a new spate of cons where you get a phone call telling you your pc is infected and the company is working with Microsoft etc. This is just yet another scam, more details here https://www.srcf.ucam.org/~drt24/blog/2010/06/phone-scammers/

    Barksto 2010 The Day

    Guest John Walton
    By Guest John Walton,

    What a day......

Cars, sunshine and burning an even bigger hole in the ozone layer.

My thanks to all of you who made it on the day.

For those who had breakdowns etc and couldn't make it I'm sure you will be back.

For those who have never been..................... you really should.

Thanks also to those who ran the event at Barkston.

Who would be a Marshall?, wrapped up in overalls all day wathing everyone else have the fun.

    Thanks chaps.

The style awarding system workd well, thanks to the two time keepers who spent all day in a very hot caravan, another job well done.

Congratulations to Nigel for his Marshalls Trophy.

Very well deserved in my opinion, never has a man worked so hard towards the longevity of Barston Heath......................by preserving the tarmac................. but destoying the grass, which of course is renewable

Next year looks like more of the same but with a revised system for awarding trophies as follows.

    Fastest/Stylish RobinHood/GBS

(Only drivers actually driving Robin Hood/GBS cars)

    First

    Second

    Third

    Fastest time/style of the day

(open to any car but must be a member)

    First

    Second

    Third

    The Marsalls Trophy

(open to any car, members only)

Any ideas and thoughts towards next year, please let me know waltjo750@aol.com.

I think we should have more wifes/girlfriends giving it a go, but we will see.

Also it would be good to see more people camping at Woodland Waters on friday or saturday night, good fun, good people and good food.

See you all then, if not before. :drinks:
