  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Sports & Kit Car Show

    Guest Spencer Griffiths
    By Guest Spencer Griffiths,

Hi all, I am organising a car show in Harold Wood, Essex next year. Details are: Saturday 18th June 2011 at Redden Court School, Harold Wood, Essex. Open to public from 10am to 4pm, cars book in at 8am to 9.45am. Free entry to sports, Classic and Kit cars. We will be raisng some money for the London Air Ambulance by way of raffles, money on door etc. The LAA will be bringing along a rapid response doctor car for the day. Its being organised by myself and some other petrol heads at my Church, St Peters Harold Wood as a cool day out and to help us engage with the community.

There is an advert in this month's Complete Kit Car magazine under the show guide section. It would be great to have a good selection of RHOCAR members there (if your not at Newark). I have already had some enquiries from other kit car clubs who want to attend and bring cars, stand etc.

    e-mail me if interested: carshow@stpetersharoldwood.org

    Regards

    steve in stockport
    By steve in stockport,

The organisers have started sending out the info for 2011.

Looks like there are no free tickets this year, but offers of 60% discounts on ticket prices:

    Cholmondeley Pageant of Power – 15th, 16th, 17th July 2011

We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback and are delighted Clubs enjoyed the track frontage along the Polo Straight.

Plans for 2011 are well underway, with the announcement that the event will be extended to include the Friday “Preview Day”. Those able to attend will witness the impressive car and bike entry completing practice laps and will obtain privileged access into the Paddock. Free access to the Friday Preview Day (for those purchasing Saturday/Sunday tickets) as well as a comprehensive 60% discount (reducing Paddock tickets from £25 to £15 per person). Camping will be free on the Thursday and Friday nights. There is no limit on the numbers that can attend, although for guidance we would ask that you indicate your required pitch size on the booking form. We would urge you to take advantage of the heavily discounted 3 day package, which includes access to our impressive “Last Night of the Proms” concert on Saturday night. The offers are outlined in full in the attached Club Tickets document. To obtain the offer all tickets must be booked in advance.

    Club Pitch

The club co-ordinator will be responsible for booking the correct type of Club Pitch for members wishing to display their vehicles. There are no limits on numbers, but each day needs to be equal. The Club form with type of Pitch & number of vehicles attending needs to be returned by 30th April 2011. The pitches this year will be larger with a choice of:

    1. 10m x 10m (minimum 6 vehicles)

    2. 15m x 20m (approx 10 vehicles)

    3. 20m x 20m( approx 15 vehicles)

    4. Larger pitch (unlimited numbers - Marquee available on request).

Pitches will be allocated on a first come first served basis, to register your interest please reply to this e’mail by January 31st, you will then be sent a booking form and discount codes enabling members to book tickets either via the CPOP website or by phone. This year Vehicle Passes will be sent direct to the co-ordinator for onward distribution.
