Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Notts & Derby Area Meeting
On behalf of John Stuart (Notts area sec.) as he does not have computer facilities.
You may be aware that Notts & Derby areas recently decided to to hold joint meetings at a single venue and they chose to meet at The Sandhills pub at Underwood. This venue has proved to be unsatisfactory due to loud music. So they have decided to continue with joint meetings but return to the previous venue i.e.

Kit required;
A valid full uk driving licence.
Overalls, must be a minimum of 100% cotton. NO MAN MADE FIBRES
For those not going for the ful Stig look, welding overalls or similar are fine or see the link below for a cheap and stylish pair.
Crash helmet, must be servicable, full or open face, full face prefered. If open face must be worn with goggles.
A car. It must be servicable and fit for purpose. No three wheelers.
A huge sense of humour and be prepared to have a good time.
Numbers will be rquired to be fixed to both sides of the car, no numpty last minute write it with a biro please.
Print two numbers at maximum size on your PC, ie a 2 and a 2 for 22, laminate and use electrical tape to affix, it aint rocket science.
Or, for little money, get them from 'fleabay', very smart.
It is for your safety, so if in the event of an incident your car can be identified by the crash rescue crews.
I will issue car numbers at a later date so as to allow an easy number change between shared drivers at change over.
Tmed runs;
Being a track day this can not be done due to insurance purposes.
But, you will be marked for 'Style' ('Barkston Virgins' please ask those that have been before)
Or contact me for clarification.
I will run an active list of those requesting places on this thread and update with update times to keep all informed of who has a place.
Now, I know I am going to get tons of questions, same every year, dont be afraid to ask, what may appear a stupid question to you may be very valid, so ask away.
If you 'Barkston Virgins' want to have a look at what you are letting yourself in for look at the youtube link thing
CAMPING; See link below.
Woodland waters is an excellent camp site.
Clean and warm showers and toilets.
Very good on site restaurant and bar.
5 minutes from the track.
For those requiring a reference as to the 'relaxing' qualities of Woodland Waters, talk to the 'Bristol Massive'
http://www.woodlandwaters.co.uk/
PETROL STATIONIn Ancaster opposite Woodland Waters.
This about the cheapest track experience you can get.
Bags of support from the ever welcoming RAFMSA crew and of course fellow drivers.
Entirely up to the driver as to how fast or how slow you want to go, you do not need to thrash your car, though you may be tempted to.
It is an opportunity to drive your car without 'big brother' watching you.
Should you require any help or instruction on the day as to how to get the most out of your car and possibly improve your 'Style' I know there will be one or two ARDS Instructors, myself included, there on the day to help.
Reduced rate for RHOCAR Members, down from the normal £200 per day for instruction to one cup of tea two sugars please
