Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Here we go again, the annual pilgrimage to RAF Barkston Heath.
September 22nd has been chosen so as there is no confliction with this years shows.
It is late enough in the year to enable those building some time.
Early enough for those that only tax until the end of September.
I will edit with links and prices and details in the next few weeks.
Until then feel free to get your name down early.
Cost
£50 per driver
Kit required;
A valid full uk driving licence.
Overalls, must be a minimum of 100% cotton. NO MAN MADE FIBRES
For those not going for the full Stig look, welding overalls or similar are fine or see the link below for a cheap and stylish pair.
Crash helmet, must be servicable, full or open face, full face prefered. If open face must be worn with goggles.
A car. It must be servicable and fit for purpose. No three wheelers.
A huge sense of humour and be prepared to have a good time.
Numbers will be rquired to be fixed to both sides of the car, no numpty last minute write it with a biro please.
Print two numbers at maximum size on your PC, ie a 2 and a 2 for 22, laminate and use electrical tape to affix, it aint rocket science.
Or, for little money, get them from 'fleabay', very smart.
It is for your safety, so if in the event of an incident your car can be identified by the crash rescue crews.
For those looking for a place to camp the night before or stay after on saturday night.
Look up Woodland Waters in Ancaster, it comes with the a 5 star rating from the 'South West Massive'

Pennine Way Road Trip 2012
Still in the very early stages of planning, over the weekend of 8th and 9th September 2012.
Leaving Edale early on Saturday 8th and heading north following as closely as possible the route of the Pennine Way to Kielder, approx 200 miles.
Saturday night stopover at Kielder youth hostel, which is licensed, does meals and also has a pub nearby
.
Sunday is last 70 miles to Kirk Yetholm then back home via the Lakes and some of the passes up there, or which ever route is best to get you home, or quick blast to the Scottish border then turn and head for home - that can be decided on the day depending on how people feel.
You might need to make arrangements to camp or hostel nr Edale on the Friday night ready for the early start, and anybody who wants to meet up and do parts of the route will be more than welcome.
I still need to sort out rough times for stops etc, but will post them once I have it all worked out.
Here's a pic of the routs showing some of the places we'll be passing through or nearby
Peak District Weekend 2012
This years Peak District weekend is planned for 8th - 10th June 2012, based once again at Hardhurst Farm camp site, near Hope in the Peak District. The site is on Parsons Lane, behind the Travellers Rest pub on the main road between Hope and Hathersage, S33 6RB. There are ladies and gents toilets and showers on site, as well as a cafe that does breakfast in the morning, pub for food and drink is 200 metres away, and BBQ's are allowed, but NO open fires. Supermarket, more pubs, curry house only 10 mins walk/2 mins drive away. Fees in 2011 were £5.00 per person, per night, so budget for around that region. For those that don't camp, the pub does B&B as well as plenty of other places in the immediate area, but it is summer in the Peaks and they will be booked up sooner rather than later. There will be a run out Saturday, exploring some of the many obscure national speed limit roads that criss cross the area, and this year we will definitely be including the ford across Bently Brook, so bring your water wings
If you're comimg add your names below so we have an idea of numbers, I'll start it off.
