Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Easthoods Area Meet.
Our next Club meet is next Sunday 13th May at The Scole Inn Scole from 11am.
Please see email below, I have said that Nick is welcome to bring his car along to the meet.
Hi Martin,
We are doing a rally on 1st - 3rd June this year called Barcelona Banger’s rally, which involves buying a car for £250 or less and driving it from Calais to Barcelona in 3 days. Check out the website www.barcelonabangers.co.ukto see more about it. We have bought an Astra Estate and covered it in stickers and are doing it for the Brain Tumour UK charity as my wife had a tumour removed in January 2010. We have a bit of a competition going to guess the number of stickers on the car, £1.00 a go to win £50 for the nearest guess, would it be ok to bring the car along to the May meeting and get some members to guess the amount of stickers? You can have a look at the car athttp://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Brainstorms, and no I’m not going to tell you how many stickers are on it!
Best regards,
Nick

Barbon Hill Climb Saturday 12Th May 2012
Hoodies,
We Hoodies have been to Barbon Hill Climb a few times in the past.
If you want to see a retired Formula 1 car going flat out up a single track road on a Cumbrian Hillside with nothing but plastic tape to stop it from leaving the road then this is for you.
It's a a good day out and goes a bit like this.
They will be practising all morning and it goes a bit quiet around lunchtime before they get stuck into it in the afternoon. We have been allowed to wander around the mechanics pits in the past (helpful advice from Hoodies is frowned upon) during lunch.
There is a pub in the village & a burger van & portaloo's on the hill.
The hill is exposed to the weather so not much fun if it's wet or windy or both!
We need to do a weather check on Friday night before commiting to meeting up.
Bring a camera or video it's very photogenic. See YouTube for proof.
The proposed details are as follows:-
11.30 AM
Assuming we are all coming over from the A66.
Meet up at Kikby Stephen for a petrol fill up. There are two garages to choose from within sight & sound of each other on the main street (A685) but the first one you come to on the left has space to do some tinkering. (I don't need to tell you this we have been there lots of times).
12.00 AM (I'm being realistic, it's like herding cats trying to get Hoodies to obey a timetable)
Follow the A685 through Kirkby Stephen (Traffic lights, so expect a tail back and lots of admiring looks) tight squeeze through top end of town past locals parked cars on main road (it must be hell living here).
Up the hill and branch off right onto the A683 to Sedbergh. Don't go straight on you will end up in Tebay!
Follow the A683 and Barbon Village is about four miles before Kirkby Lonsdale.
12.30 Pm
Barbon Hill Climb Parking (Follow the signs & directions onto the grass field).
Saturday 12th May 2012
ROUNDS 3 & 4 OF THE AVON TYRES MSA BRITISH HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP
Also rounds of:
TTC GROUP MSA HILLCLIMB LEADERS CHAMPIONSHIP
Y GELLI BOOK AUCTIONS CHALLENGE TROPHY
ANWCC HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP CHESTER & LIVERPOOL MOTOR CLUBS SPEED CHAMPIONSHIP
The address is:- Barbon, Kendal, Cumbria LA6 2LH
Adult entry was £10 last year with children under 16 free. I cannot find a price for this year.
Barbon is near Kirkby Lonsdale, up the Lune River valley that forms the border between the Pennines and the Cumbrian mountains, so you can imagine that it is unequalled for scenery. The course is one of the shorter hillclimbs, but is consequentially challenging; the ambience is informal but the competition is keen!

Hollowell 7Th & 8Th July (Northampton)
I have decided to post this to see if anyone would be interested;
KIT CARS ARE NEEDED!!!!
The guy who is in charge of organising this event is a close family friend and my dad and I have been involved in the running of this event every year for the last 15 or so years.
It is an amazing weekend, and each year it just gets bigger and better and the "steam and heavy horse" aspect of the show now only represents about 40% of the entire show as there are loads of different things to see, do and buy....and there is plenty of things a car enthusiast would find interesting (classic cars, american cars, millitary vehicles etc..etc...).
Because this show isn't advertised as well as it could be, my RH sits in the show amonst 3 or 4 other kit cars...but I hope this year we can do better than that!!!
If anyone would be interested in coming to this weekend and showing their RH, I would highly recomend it and camping makes the whole weekend excellent!!! The exhibitors forms are avalible to download from the site and the closing date is the 30th May.
Just have a look....(the gallery photo's and videos only scratch the surface of the many things that turn up for the weekend!!)
