Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The Committee would like to congratulate Heritage Insurance on their 60th Anniversary in 2025The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Skcc - Rallye Des Jonquilles 14Th April 2013
OK, so this is another fantastic SKCC event that we would like to extend to folks on here.
This is our bi-annual trip across the water to participate in the’tulip’ roadbook style – the famous Rallye Artois Lys.
In terms of fun this event doesn’t get much better, it’s a three stage Rally through the small villages in Northern France using the Tulip style roadbooks, for those that haven’t done this before the Tulip books are you guides, its basically a book full of hundreds of directions which you have to follow. The start is the main town square at Artois Lys and when you get going the road will lead you down to a junction, the roadbook tells you how far that junction is and which way to go – and then how far to the next junction etc.
Along the way there’s signs on the side of the road which you need to mark in your book, things like car logos, or just letters and numbers – just to prove you have done the route.
It’s not a race, and it’s fantastic fun, you will need a passenger to help with the navigation.
Unfortunately I cannot make this event personally but if you’re interested let me know and I’ll put you in touch with our man leading the event
Please can I remind you though that if you want to do this you MUST let us know, we need to manage our entries and also the organisers do a special SKCC prize too
Further details here http://www.lagrangeauxdamiers.com/
You can download the rallye entry form from this link: http://www.southernkitcars.com/Downloads/Entry%20form%20-%20Rallye%20des%20Jonquilles%202013.pdf

Skcc Uk Road Trip - Come And Join Us
The Road Trip has been run for the past 2 years and is a great experience - that's not me speaking, that's the feedback from those that have come along!
The format is simple......its a 5 day 4 night trip that starts on the Weds and finishes on the 1st Bank hold Sunday weekend in May - according to my diary that’s the 1st - 5th.
Each day we cover a couple of hundred miles, not necessarily 'blatting' - you drive as you want to, last year we had 20 cars and quite naturally the group gradually split up throughout the morning/afternoon due to traffic etc
The roads are picked as far as possible to match the cars that we have, stunning scenery blending with lovely twisties and at the end of each day we stay in a Hotel - normally in a small Town so that we can have a few beers/curry- whatever, the banter and fun is equally as impressive as the driving.....
OK so that's the backdrop....where are we going?
Day 1- up as far as Holmfirth in the Peaks and finishing just outside Sheffield – weds the 1st
Day 2 sheffield zig zag across mid Peaks and then down towards Shropshire before finishing at Llangollen
Day 3 round robin staying in Llangollen again
Day 4 Llangollen to Llandrindod wells
Day 5 home or Stoneleigh depending what individuals are doing.
So here’s your chance to organise a run and meet us en-route to come and say hello, it would be great to see you and maybe join us for a short while – or even the whole day, and find out exactly what the group driving experience is all about, PM me if you want a bit more detail, timings etc!
