  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    By brumster,

Just FYI if you're looking for something to do this weekend, there is a car show in Beacon Park in Lichfield - called "Cars in the Park" it runs Saturday and Sunday and is usually q nice affair, with a good spread of local motor clubs. It's not focused on one particular marque, era or type so you get moderns, classics, etc. plus local dealers, food stalls, autojumbles, activities for the kids, yada yada yada.

    All the details here :-

Midlands Area Run Out - 10Th/11Th August 2013

    richyb66
    By richyb66,

Following last year’s Midlands’s area weekend run to North Wales we’ve decided to organize another one for the second weekend in August, 10th/ 11th, exactly one year on, and just 5 weeks away.

The destination will again be the Llyn Peninsula, North West Wales but in a change from last year, we’re proposing travelling up late on Friday afternoon 9th August and staying over both Friday and Saturday night. This will allow time to recover from the drive up, then have a full day on Saturday for a more scenic drive out on some great uncrowded roads, see some sights, lunch stop etc whilst still keeping things at a leisurely pace for those that want it.

Departure time on Friday will depend on whatever the majority of people think is best but we need to allow sufficient to time to arrive before it gets too dark if people have to put up tents so realistically I think we’d need to be leaving the Birmingham area by 17-30 at the latest. If people prefer to travel up early Saturday, that we’ll try and cover that as well so we can all meet up.

Accommodation can be camping or B&B depending on whatever people want to do. Initially we just want to get an idea of numbers so if you’re interested, speak up now and indicate whether camping or B&B suits you best and I’ll get more detailed information posted once I know a few numbers and what people want to do.

    Any other questions, just ask.

Distington Show "our Big Local One"

    Guest old AL
    By Guest old AL,

I realise we have a "skeleton crew" here in Cumbria (and the wettest weather!!!) but thought it worth mentioning for any "semi locals" that might be interested, as the weather seems promising for a change. The 32nd Annual Distington show/rally 7th July (Distington is halfway between Workington and Whitehaven, poshly called the western lake district) Its usually a pretty big un with thousands of punters, I attend virtually every year, I've attended both ways, prior booked, and turn up on the day, as long as its reasonably early (not 1 or 2 oclock in the afternoon!!!!) I've seen the odd Westfield and Tiger cat there but these last 3 years or so I've been the only Hoodie Regards to All AL

    Leicestershire Karting

    Andi
    By Andi,

    http://www.strettoncircuit.co.uk/

I am after 5 (maybe 6) people to fill up the line up of 12 for a karting session.

After chatting with the manager of Stretton he can do a discount of £15 (£30 instead of £45) and although not yet confirmed I would like to do it on the Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th of August.

If anyone is interested let me know.

    Curborough, This Saturday

    Guest Jumbo
    By Guest Jumbo,

I have just booked with trackdaydrivers.com (no idea that there like) for Curborough this Saturday afternoon, 1.30 - 5.30 for just £35. I know its not a track day and is only a little circuit / track but cheap as chips for a bit of fun (hopefully).

Any other hoodies up for it?
