  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Guest flashash
    By Guest flashash,

Hi All, I am new to the club just joined and very much a new member to the world of Robin Hood at long last. Only wanted one for about 10 years. I recently brought a RH lightweight 1600 pinto and hooked already, just like going back to my Rotax karting days!! I am coming up to the Donnington show on Saturday to camp over the evening me and the father in law in the RH and brother in law and mate bringing the tent. Just wanted to introduce myself prior to the weekend and really looking forward to it. Is there many from the club going?

Tatton Park Show - Travel From Nw On Sunday Morning

    Guest shaggy
    By Guest shaggy,

    All,

as title suggests, for those who want to meet up, a few of us are meeting at Charnock Richard services on Sunday morning. Ready to be away (full tanks etc) for 8.30 as arriving at Tatton Park after 9.30 is a massive traffic jam as some of us found out at the June show this year.

    Easthoods Area Meet.

    Guest piddy
    By Guest piddy,

    Hello All.

    New Venue!

I have now been in contact with my contact from the Crown Inn at Pulham Market.

It is definitely closed at the moment.

I had also thought of the Falcon, the pub on the opposite side of the green at Pulham Market, but unfortunately the present owners are due to leave this weekend and new owners are taking over, they are due to make a lot of changes to the pub so It’s probably not the best place to move to at the moment.

    New Venue!

My contact has suggested the Old Ram at Tivetshall St Mary, I have been in contact with them and they are willing to take us on. They have a function room at the back of the pub that we can use with doors that open on to a garden area.

They have a very large car park. They do a roast dinner on Sunday lunchtime as well as other meals like lasagne and burgers etc.

So I am glad to say that we will be meeting there this Sunday from 11am.

This can be our new permanent venue or a temporary one dependant what we think of it.

    New Venue!

The full address is The Old Ram, Tivetshall St Mary, Norwich. NR15 2DE. Tel 01379 676794

It is located along the A140. 7 miles from Diss, 14 Miles from Norwich.

Thank you to those of you that have made suggestions of pubs that we might hold our meetings.

    Martin.

    By Guest piddy,

    Hello all.

Ref: our next meeting 18th August.

I heard five weeks ago that the Crown Inn was due to close.

I got in contact with one of the employees there and they said that it was being brought by a new owner, and it would be re opened before our next meet on the 18th. I've received two e mails over the last two weeks from members saying its closed so I'm trying to confirm this, during this week and make arrangements for a another meeting place if need be.

I was a way in the US so I have not been able to sort anything until today.

I’ve contacted the employee in question today via their mobile and I had to leave a message. I have tried to contact the pub via their phone and the number no longer exists.

I’ll let you all know what I find out, and any new meeting point I may come up with, whether it be a temporary or permanent pending a trial by us.

I will do this via e mail and the latest news section of our website.

    Regards Martin.
