  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Leics To Fauld Explosion Crater Run 14/15 June (Which Ever Is Driest)

    Andi
    By Andi,

Some of these lanes I discovered the other week when getting lost in the kit and they are in a fantastic bit of countryside.

Now I dont pretend to remember every lane I got lost down but I have planned a route which covers most of the villages i went

    through.

    See here

    http://goo.gl/maps/CNmW9

We should start off at the Field Head Hotel in Markfield Leics at 10.30 am and onwards to the destination of the Cock Inn in Hanbury

where we can have beer and food and for those interested in a short walk (less than 1/2 mile) you can get to the Fauld bomb crater

believed to be one of the biggest non nuclear explosions in the world after a munitions dump went up in a big bang during the last war.

WARNING.... Apparently there is still live ordinance lurking about so keep behind the signed pathways. The cars would be secure as the Wife

or I will be watching them (though if Kerry goes he might come back to find a pinto in his Hood  )

    More info here.

Oh ...and as always weather permitting.

It is so schitzo at the moment though

    Andi

Oh and did I mention some of the lanes can be somewhat challenging

July Lincolnshire Meeting - Barkston Heath - Heads Up

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

I know we haven't had the June meeting yet, but this is just an advance notice for the diaries. As you may have seen from other posts the problems with Barkston Heath have been solved so the track days are back on. Next one is 12/13 July so I suggest we have a get together there, probably on the Saturday.

You don't have to race, although I would highly recommend it, it was the first thing I did with my Superspec and it was great fun. It isn't a full blown race track, so you don't go all that fast, but lots of tight corners to throw the car round. And they finish off with a 1/4 mile sprint.

If you do race it's £50 per day but big discounts if you are new or bring a friend who is new.

Barbeque will be switched on so you can bring and cook your own food. free camping Friday and Saturday.

As usual, all are welcome. More details nearer the day or you can e-mail hoody.bill@ntlworld.com with any specific questions.

    Tatton Show This Weekend

    Guest Ian Maycock
    By Guest Ian Maycock,

    Is anybody camping tonight?

June Meet For Hants & Dorset Area.

    fry61
    By fry61,

Evening all, 2nd Sunday in June is early --- the 8th it is. Was planning on going to the " Wiltshire Steam Fair" at Oare -- Near Pewsey. How about a RHOCaR picnic?

It's a great setting in the grounds of a country house, plenty to see & do -- plus a large car boot sale to spend your pocket money on.

The very energetic amounst you could climb the adjacent hill (200 ft ) for a marvellous view over the show & country-side.

We are too late to have a stand so no rush for numbers attending.
