    The Committee would like to congratulate Heritage Insurance on their 60th Anniversary in 2025

    The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

    It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

    The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

    The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

    So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Hi All, I am new to the club just joined and very much a new member to the world of Robin Hood at long last. Only wanted one for about 10 years. I recently brought a RH lightweight 1600 pinto and hooked already, just like going back to my Rotax karting days!! I am coming up to the Donnington show on Saturday to camp over the evening me and the father in law in the RH and brother in law and mate bringing the tent. Just wanted to introduce myself prior to the weekend and really looking forward to it. Is there many from the club going?

    Hants & Dorset September Meet ?

    Looking ahead to a possible Hants & Dorset meet on Sunday 8th September or Tuesday 10th. Thinking is that a Sunday meet could involve a decent run some-where south & west; where-as the Tuesday evening will just be a gathering for dinner; in possibly the New Forest area. Ideas & most importantly ,replies please.

    The annual meet at Thornfalcon is this Sunday, plan is to pre-meet at Exeter Services for 10am then drive up on B roads and old A38 from there to arrive for just after 11, extract below from their web site :)

    DESPITE LAST SUMMER'S AWFUL WEATHER OUR EVENT TOOK PLACE AS USUAL, SUNDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER, AT THE PARKLANDS, HENLADE, NR.TAUNTON, SOMERSET. THE MEETING WAS AGAIN A GREAT SUCCESS WITH WELL OVER 1100 VEHICLES ATTENDING, DESPITE EARLY MORNING RAIN. MANY VISITORS CREDIT THE POPULARITY OF OUR MEETING TO ITS FORMAT: IT IS FREE OF CHARGE, NO BOOKING NECESSARY (ALTHOUGH IT DOES HELP TO KNOW IN ADVANCE IF CAR CLUBS AND LARGE GROUPS WISH TO ATTEND), AND COME AND GO, AS AND WHEN YOU PLEASE. THERE IS A CHOICE OF FOOD AVAILABLE TOGETHER WITH A LICENCED BAR. IT IS PRIMARILY A LUNCH-TIME MEET, FROM 11.00am TO 2.30pm BUT MANY PEOPLE ARRIVE MUCH EARLIER AND SOME STAY LATER. Most makes are represented, from the mainstream to the obscure, including commercial vehicles, motorbikes and tractors. One year a vintage combine harvester arrived!

    Been invited to the above open day. Classics in various stages of rebuild. Smashing workshop and all sorts of tools, very interesting. Anyone interested, see you on the A19 at the layby between Moor Farm roundabout and the Holiday Inn at 10.30am, then 11.00am at Washington Services.

    Leicestershire Area Meets.... Change Of Calender Dates

    It has been decided tonight that we will be changing the dates of the Leicestershire area monthly meets.

    They will now take place every third Wednesday of the month.

     

    The next one being September 18th. They will still be held at the same location The Waterside Inn, Mountsorrel LEICS.

     

    I shall be emailing/phoning everybody in the area individually.

    There's a classic and sports car show at The Cottage Inn, Fillongley near Coventry, 11AM onwards on Sunday 8th September.

     

    BBQ, pig roast and outside bar available.
