  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Rhocar Fun

    keith kelly
    By keith kelly,

Seen as the shows are getting scarse and we have a massive club full of petrol heads i was thinking of looking at organising a sprint day at curborough or a club event at santa pod. Made a few enquiries and waiting to get details but who would be interested?

Did curborough 2 years ago with the west mids boys and while its a small sprint track its great to get some confidence, learn your car and test it out. I think if numbers are good isnt that expensive either.

Always wanted to do santa pod and looking into it rwyb (run what ya brung) do quite a few events and welcome clubs. One i spotted was a saturday special where you can run from 9.30 am till 8pm and you can camp over so could be a laugh and as the runs are timed we can have a bit of fun and give a few trophys out (BEST AND WORSE RUN ETC) looking at prices cant see it costing more than 40-50 quid.

Open to suggestions and help in organising

Let me know your thoughts if enough interest we can make it happen

    Regards

    Keith

    Lincolnshire Meeting For February

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

    Hi all

The February meeting for the Lincolnshire (and surrounding area) Chapter will be a 'Southerly' one this time, held at 12:00 on Saturday 14th February, I was going to be selfish and suggest my local pub (35 second drive for me in second gear), but their prices are a bit steep. So I am suggesting the Fox & Hounds at Old Somerby (NG33 4AB) which is a nice 'eatery' pub, reasonable prices, has a large car park and is a bit closer for those of you coming from 'Oop North'.

So far I have a yes from

    Me + Ruth

    Nigel (niduncan) + Helen

    Richard (richard7)

Please let me know any other attendees either here or by PM so I can see if we need to book a table. I will update this list as they arrive.

    Cheers

    Al

P.S. Pencil in Sunday 8th March for the next meeting as I am off on a prolonged holiday again on the 12th :)

Tatton Park Classic Car Show 2015

    steve in stockport
    By steve in stockport,

The Tatton Park classic car show is taking place over the weekend of 30th and 31st May this year. I'll be applying for a club stand in the next couple of days, the show is free to enter for driver and passenger if you are displaying a vehicle, you can do either day or all weekend and camping is available from Friday usually for about £10 per tent for the weekend.

    Show details

If you're interested in attending add your details below including your name, car make, model and reg, whether you'll be there Saturday, Sunday or all weekend and whether you intend camping. For those who don't camp there is a premier inn about 2 miles from Tatton Park.

No money needed, you pay for camping at the show.

There is another show in August but there should be another thread about that one soon.

Want To Start Monthly Staffordshire Meet

    Guest mdav1970
    By Guest mdav1970,

    Hi all,

I cannot find a meet thats remotely local to central midlands / Staffordshire, so i want to see if anyone would be interested in having a monthly meeting held in Staffordshire, either around Stafford / Stoke on Trent or North Staffs area which is always a nice drive out, like near Alton Towers. I do have a couple of locations in mind and already attend a couple of local classic car shows throughout the summer.

Im sure there must be a few people in this area, so anyone with any ideas or intrrested please let me know.

    Cheers...Mark

    Beaumanor Hall Show

    Derek
    By Derek,

I have sent off Kerry & My application form for the above event which is on Sunday 26th July, its only £3 so not a huge risk if the weather is very bad.

I have booked a club stand so when filling out that part of the application form put in RHOCAR.
