  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Out To-Day ?

    fry61
    By fry61,

Hi all, did any-one else get out for a long ( or short) run to-day?

We took Florin over to a manor house near Watchet in Somerset for a photo shoot with the lads & lasses of Apple County.

19 cars attended on what turned out to be a good sunny morning, full of natter & good banter plus a few photos ( 100's )

Not such a good trip home, injector pump failed ; had a spare in the boot

Fixed & on our way again but the delay saw us finishing our trip in pouring rain.

    No More Hollowell

    richardm6994
    By richardm6994,

Unfortunately for reasons beyond my control, the Hollowell Steam committee will not be inviting RHOCaR to the steam rally this year and they have also withdrawn their invitation for us to use the Hollowell site for the End of Season Bash.

Their reason for not inviting us to the rally supposedly comes from last year and RHOCaR not leaving our cars on the club stand overnight (those who were there may remember the argument I had with Allan over this)

The reason they have withdrawn the use of their site for our End of Season Bash is that they feel it would be ‘too awkward’ having not invited us to the rally.

This news is completely unexpected and having been part of Hollowell gang for the last 20 years I have taken it very personally. I believe the reason given is utter bull**** and instead this is a reflection of how Allan Eaton’s attitude towards rally supporters has deteriorated over the last few years. RHOCaR are not the only ones feeling the pain and I am not the only ‘long-termer’ to be wiping my hands of them due to the rash decisions Allan is making at the moment.

What rubs salt into the wound even deeper is that I only found out this news last Friday via another of the Hollowell committee member and since Friday I have tried to contact Allan to talk their decision but he is avoiding my calls.

I believe if I hadn't contacted the committee last week to find out where the RHOCaR invites were, we wouldn't have been told about this decision until much nearer the time cause us an even bigger problem!

Please rest assured that we will do our utmost to secure a new location for the End of Season Bash and we will keep you updated.

I truly am sorry for the disappointment I know this post will bring, but please trust me when I say that there isn’t anyone who feels this disappointed more deeply than I do right now having stepped away from something which has been a large part of my life since childhood.

    By fry61,

Hi all, once again I am arranging a pitch for club members at Prescott Hill Climb which this year takes place on the 23/24th May (Saturday/Sunday)

Advance tickets are £10 for either day or £17.5 for both , children under 14 free -- camping is available at £5 per adult/night & child half price.

Past years have proved to be very enjoyable --- see prescott-hillclimb.com for details.

The loos, showers & camping ground are all good quality as befits the home of The Buggati Club. There are plenty of food outlets & a restaurant all at reasonable prices.

If we have enough interest we shall arrange a collective meal for Saturday evening.

Names below please stating SAT -- SUN -- or WEEKEND tickets plus camping requirements.

Please only put your name down if you are defo up for it as i will be chasing the £35 once i have worked out the best way to collect it as i wouwld prefer it to go though the club but not sure thats an option yet

Please check out http://rwyb.co.uk. helmets and arm restraints are required. Arm restraints are about £20 pair but could be shared. Also i beleive that mothercare child wrist straps have been used but will check with pod to confirm, they are about £5 each.

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

As hinted at in the February post, the next Lincolnshire meeting will be on Saturday 7th March 'oop North' at a new venue, Doddington Hall, near Lincoln. A new car show is starting there so we felt we should help it kick off.

As usual please indicate attendance and I will up date this post. So far it's:

    Me

    Richard (Richard7)

    Ian (barney7)

    Nigel & Helen (niduncan)

    Mick (mowerman)

    Andrew (Ozz)

It's very close to Richard so I am delegating the detailed organising to him :), so he will provide further details.

    Cheers

    Al
