Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club
The Committee would like to congratulate Heritage Insurance on their 60th Anniversary in 2025The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.
It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.
The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.
The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !
So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Wales 2023
Details of my annual road trip to Wales is in my blog (with video at the end):
https://zerolifebuild.blogspot.com/2023/09/another-year-another-wales.html
West Mids Monthly Meet 27th September 2023
Next Wednesday 27th, 6pm onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL.
Generally they're trying to kick us out just after 930pm so if you're coming, don't leave it too late. Also, if you want to eat, book beforehand as they don't normally let people just rock up and eat.
Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island.
Everyone welcome. See you there.
North East Area Meeting Tuesday 26th September
Sorry I won't be able to come to the September meeting as I am away on holiday, I will leave it up to you regulars to work out if you want to hold the meeting or not, just let me know and I will put a post on here to let everyone know. Alan
East of England meets for September
After a last minute cancellation yesterday as a rain band refused to move out of our area, we did a quick 24-delay and went today. We went back to one of our favourite places (mainly because they don't charge for parking ) in the grounds of Burghley House near Stamford (of Horse Trials fame). Our trip times vary between 35 mins and 60 mins so we each get a good run in the cars. Since we were there last they have closed our normal parking field but have built a brand new, large car park in the grounds. So we parked up in there (still free) and as it was quiet set up there for a picnic. As you will have noticed it has been a beautiful day so it was great just sitting there and catching up. (Note: There are actually 4 cars, Derek & Mo's 2B is hiding behind mine
Most of us a busy for the next 2 weeks so it looks like our next meet will be the Corby Glen Sheep Fair on the 8th October, although we may sneak in a one-off in the preceding week.
Southwest Area Meet - 17 September 2023
Hi All
A few of the Southwest area members have responded positively to having a meet up this coming Sunday 17 September 2023. The weather in Devon/Dorset region also looks promising. Would there be interest from any neighbouring members to attend? The following location is proposed:
Date, time & venue: Sunday 17 September 2023, 12:00, meet up at the Trumpet Major, Alington Ave, Dorchester DT1 2AB.
After a bite to eat a run through to the beach at Bowlease Cove could be an option.
Anyone else interested let me know or just turn up.
Regards
Robbie

Corby Glen Sheep Fair Sunday 8 October
As is customary at this time of the year as the season closes down, we are invited to display our cars at the Corby Glen Sheep Fair (https://sheepfair.co.uk/. Post Code: NG33 4NW
This is a classic small village fair, with food stalls, craft stalls, dog show, fun fair, morris dancing and classic cars. We have been displaying our cars here for 10 years (ever since I moved into the next village ) and will do it again this year. For a small village show it often attracts well over 50 cars of all shapes and sizes so it is well worth attending. In particular it is unusual as it is free and you can arrive/leave whenever you like.
I'll post more details nearer the day, so put it in your diary.
Flyers
The Club has recently stocked up with some flyers. If anyone is thinking of going to a car show where they can usefully distribute them (we normally slide one underneath the windscreen wiper of any kit cars not displaying our sticker ) just let me know and I will send you 10 copies (the most I can send under a second class stamp).

Useful Sites
You may have noticed I have implemented a new option on the blue banner called 'Useful Sites'. At the moment it has PDF copies of the recent magazines, the old NW Group pages that still had some very relevant information, a link to some build blogs and, not surprisingly, a page for Superspec owners that I have edited.
It would be nice if we had similar pages for the other models so people don't have to search the whole database for useful information on their car. So if anyone would care to look after pages for the 3,3A,Exmo,2B... please let me know. And if anyone knows any other good build blogs to add please let me know as well.
North East Area August Meeting on Tuesday 29th from 7.00pm
Time to get ready for our monthly meeting at the Church Mouse, Chester Moor DH23RJ, we may even have a returning member making an appearance.
GBS meet 25/8
It's GBS's factory meet tomorrow evening 5 till 9. I'm hoping to head down from the Humber bridge. Any one else making thier way?
