  • Welcome to The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year. The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

    Staffordshire Area Meet 27/06/2024

    Andi
    By Andi,

    Hi all,

This might be on 27/06/2024 at The George and Dragon which may be in Meaford, Stone ST15 0PX.

No one has to go if you dont want to, No one really turns up to Stafford events, one or 2 if your lucky.

Hopefully the pub wont close down, as this has happened once before. In fact one closed down for good, and another that we have used closes down next week.

I wouldnt say its too boring being alone at meets, its a perfect time for reflection, self realisation and creative thinking. I might even take my "how to build a kit car for £250" book and wonder where it all went wrong.

The weather is looking good, so ill be able to sit outside looking at the vast array of, well, tin tops. And perhaps have a conversation with myself whilst talking at my reflection on the newly polished rear end of my kit.

The chairman is the most turned up person. Think i`ll get us both T shirts with "The Staffordshire 2" on it.

Anyways, if you do turn up, and you see a sad looking couple of blokes looking like theyre part of a "cant be bothered Andys man club", that`ll be us.

    Come over and say hello.

Wheels motor show, Penkridge Staffordshire 1/9/24

It seems the best deal is to show your car with movement. Lets be honest, I dont like the idea of being a show prisoner for the whole day.

Its then only £7 per car.

Cars at the farm camping weekend 2024

    Kerry
    By Kerry,

We have been invited by Craig Cundy to hold a camping weekend at their farm in Huntingdon. As some members will know it’s a great venue and the hospitality is excellent.
This event is open to club members and their family.
The club will fund the event including the BBQ on the Saturday evening, and breakfast on Sunday.
Toilets, fresh water and waste disposal point will be on site, but no electric hook up.
A barn with seating is available if the weather isn’t kind, along with the club events shelters.
As usual there will be a run out on Saturday.

There is a maximum limit of spaces due to catering needs of 60 people, so please put your names on the post as its first come first serve.

As the event is being funded by the club, we are suggesting a donation of £10 per person and £20 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children paid at the event to go to the hosts, or a charity of there choosing.
The date of the weekend is Friday 23rd August to Monday 26th August.
Sharon and myself look forward to seeing you there.

    Assistant Webmaster needed

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

    Hi everyone

A few months ago I took on the role of looking after the Website.  It's taken me some time to get used to the software and I apologise for the couple of times when I crashed the system with my experiments 😀   During that time I was helped by Neil Hammond, and my thanks go to him for his assistance.  However, he is probably going to leave the Club in the near future and has suggested I find someone else.   I'm getting on a bit so there is a remote (I hope) possibility of me popping my clogs.   As such, we really need someone who can step into the breach.

You don't have to be a computer whiz kid, you just need to be reasonably computer literate, most of the job involves amending the options within the software.   A understanding of HTML and Javascript would be useful but not essential.

Anyone feel like taking it on ?
